LOOKING BACK ON THE LAST FEW MONTHS OF 2024: Progress, Partnerships, and Purpose

As 2025 approaches, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on some stand-out moments from the last few months; a term that has closed off what has been a very positive year at Health Diagnostics. From unexpected invitations to Number 10 and Whitehall, to exciting new partnerships and achievements, the end of 2024 saw us achieve some key milestones which underscore our commitment to driving innovation and quality through our health check delivery programme. Here’s a look at some highlights…

Small Business Breakfast Roundtable with Jonathan Reynolds MP

On November 6th, our founder and Managing Director, Julie Evason, was invited to a Small Business Breakfast Roundtable  hosted by the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds MP. Alongside the leaders of seven other SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) she contributed to open discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing SMEs in today’s business landscape.

This event came after the pivotal moment in October when Wes Streeting announced a new, three-pronged focus for the NHS:  prevention, digital and a move from hospital to community care. All three are areas where our company has pushed innovation, over 20 years.

Julie left the roundtable inspired by the shared sense of purpose among SMEs, commenting that, “Speaking with other SMEs, it was clear we all face similar challenges. Whether it’s funding, compliance, or embracing new technologies, we need tailored support to overcome these hurdles.”

Looking ahead, Julie identified the following critical areas for the government to action, in order to support small businesses:

  • Improved access to funding
  • Streamlined compliance support
  • Improved procurement opportunities
  • Regional training hubs
  • Investment in data transformation and AI

The roundtable was an important step in amplifying the voices of SMEs. We’re proud to have contributed to this dialogue, and look forward to seeing how these conversations translate into meaningful action.

A visit to 10 Downing Street

Building on this momentum, December 3rd saw Julie have the privilege of stepping through the iconic black door of 10 Downing Street. Somewhat out of the blue, she’d received a personal invitation to join around 50 other SME leaders from a variety of sectors. The event had been organised to celebrate the vital role SMEs play in shaping and strengthening the UK economy, and, by extension, their local communities.

In a brief address, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described SMEs as the “beating heart of the UK economy” – a sentiment which resonated with all those present. Julie reflected afterwards that, “To keep the SMEs ‘beating, we must prioritise the health and wellbeing of employees. Our work with NHS Health Checks and workplace health initiatives helps people stay healthier for longer, enabling them to thrive both professionally and personally.”

This visit to No.10 was more than just a celebration of SMEs’ contribution – it was a powerful reminder to keep championing healthier businesses, to ensure the nation has thriving communities and stronger futures.

G-Cloud 14 Framework SUCCESS: Our QUALITY Recognised

In other news, we were delighted to share the news that our health check cloud suite, Health Options® CS, is now part of the Crown Commercial Service’s G-Cloud 14 Framework – the UK Government’s Digital Marketplace.

We’re particularly proud to have been successful in all our G-Cloud 14 applications, which include both the Targeted Invites and Interactive Consultations modules. Public sector organisations can now access these tools with confidence, further supporting streamlined and effective delivery of healthcare.

A new PARTNERSHIP with the PRSB

At the end of November, we were equally excited to announce a new partnership with the Professional Record Standards Body (PRSB). This collaboration is built on a shared mission: Delivering “better records for better care”. By ensuring compliance with the PRSB NHS Health Check Standard, we aim to guarantee that high-quality data is consistently collected, and used effectively, for risk assessment. Together with the PRSB, we are committed to:

  • Streamlining healthcare workflows
  • Empowering patients to understand the impact of their lifestyle choices on their health and wellbeing

As with our successful G-Cloud 14 application, this partnership highlights our passion for delivering value and quality at every level of health check initiatives. As the PRSB puts it, our collective goal is to “put patients in the driver’s seat”, helping them make informed decisions for better health outcomes.

LOOKING AHEAD: Exciting Projects on the Horizon

While 2024 has been heavy on achievements, we’re not stopping there! We’ve been working closely with clients like public health in Kent and Medway, Rotherham Federation, and the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust, and we’re excited to share more about our work with them in a series of blog posts which will go live in the New Year. Stay tuned as we dive into these projects and the positive impact they’re having across many communities.

Final Thoughts

This year has been one of growth, connection and purpose. From engaging with government leaders at Downing Street, contributing to key roundtables, to forming important partnerships, we’ve remained steadfast in our mission: to innovate and support health diagnostics that empower individuals and communities.

As we close the year, we’d like to thank our clients, partners, and team members wholeheartedly for their continued support and dedication.

Here’s to an exciting 2025!
